Club activities and COVID-19

In the light of the current situation regarding COVID-19 and the advice from the UK government and the World Health Organisation, we are taking the precautionary measure of cancelling all organised rides and social events for the short-term and will review this when information suggests it is time to do so. This, officially, includes Regents Park laps and all training, social rides, and off-bike social events.

CC London is nothing without our members and as such our priority is ensuring that you are all safe and protected.

This is an exceptionally hard decision because cycling is so important to all of us and forms a huge part of our social network, our physical, and our mental wellbeing. With this in mind please look out for each other in the following days and weeks and if I or the committee can help you with this then please get in contact with either me on or Karen Taplin, our Welfare Officer, on

Of course at the moment we are free to move around as we wish and some of you may choose to meet for rides or to ride by yourselves. We really have no frame of reference for events such as these so I know you’ll make the decisions that are right for you and that you will keep yourselves and others safe. However please do be conscious that spitting or blowing noses should be done into a tissue and disposed of in a bin as soon as possible.

As of today, 17th March 2020, British Cycling has also suspended all of its sanctioned cycling activities initially until April 30th. Hopefully the situation will change for the better soon but in the meantime let’s take positive action to contain the spread of this virus and be there for each other as much as we can.

As soon as there is any new information we’ll update you and it might also be helpful to keep an eye on the British Cycling COVID-19 information page for updates:

Please take care of your loved ones and of yourselves and we will see you on the road soon.

Elisabeth Anderson (Secretary) and the CC London Committee
